Find My Vocal Range is a free vocal range test and a set of plain-English guides to voice types. It exists to answer two questions singers keep asking — what is my range? and what voice type am I? — quickly, without an account, an app download or a piano.

Who runs this site

I’m Mike Wang, and I build and maintain this site on my own. I’m not a voice teacher, so the guides here stick to well-established, widely published facts about vocal ranges and voice classification, and say clearly where teachers and sources disagree. For a definitive verdict on your voice type, a qualified teacher listening to you in person is still the gold standard.

How the vocal range test works

The vocal range test runs entirely in your browser. Your microphone audio is analysed on your device to detect pitch and is never recorded or uploaded. Only notes you hold steadily for a second count toward your range.

Where our ranges come from

Voice-type ranges on this site are the commonly cited classical ranges. Different teachers and classification systems place the boundaries a note or two apart, so treat every range as approximate.
